PRONOUNCED shuh-REESE

PREMIER HAIRSTYLIST BUILDING ON 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.  GRADUATED IN 2009 FROM THE GENE JUAREZ ACADEMY, NORTH CAMPUS AND NOW WORKING INDEPENDENTLY AT BAHTOH (APRIL 2017) IN THE INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT OF SEATTLE, WA.  SPECIALIZING IN NATURAL BALAYAGE AND "LIVED-IN" HAIRCUTS.

I LOVED PLAYING AROUND WITH HAIR AS A KID BUT NEVER ONCE DID I THINK, I WANT TO BE A HAIRSTYLIST WHEN I GROW UP.  MY MOM WAS THE TYPE TO ALWAYS KEEP HER HAIR AND NAILS DONE, AND I LOVED TAGGING ALONG TO HER APPOINTMENTS MOSTLY JUST TO WATCH BUT WOULD BE ON CLOUD NINE IF SHE LET ME GET SOMETHING DONE.  I WAS SO CONFIDENT IN WHAT I "LEARNED" THAT I WOULD DO MY OWN MANI/PEDI AND STYLE MY HAIR ALMOST EVERY DAY STARTING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.  FOR MY 5TH GRADE GRADUATION PRESENT, MY MOM LET ME GET MY HAIR COLORED AND I CHOSE CHUNKY RED HIGHLIGHTS (LMAO!) -- I THOUGHT I WAS A PRO AFTER THAT.  I STARTED CUTTING MY OWN HAIR AND SAVING ALLOWANCE TO BUY BOX COLOR.  I HAD TWO YOUNGER COUSINS WHO WERE LIKE MY REAL LIFE BARBIES AND WOULD MAKE THEM PLAY HAIR SALON OR NAIL SHOP WITH ME.  MY TALENT WAS NOTICED BY MY AUNTIE WHO THEN ASKED ME TO DO MY COUSIN'S CURLY HAIR ALMOST WEEKLY.

I REDISCOVERED MY LOVE FOR HAIR ONE YEAR AFTER GRADUATING FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL (2007) WHEN MY FRIEND, VANALY, TOLD ME SHE WAS PLANNING ON TOURING THE GENE JUAREZ ACADEMY.  I ACCOMPANIED HER AND WAS HAPPY TO FIND A REASON TO SKIP CLASS.  AT THE TIME I WAS ATTENDING SEATTLE CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE WITH NO REAL GOALS IN PLACE.  WHEN WE STEPPED ONTO THE SALON FLOOR DURING THE TOUR, EVERYTHING JUST CLICKED!  I COULDN'T IGNORE THE VIBE FROM THE SALON AND INSTANTLY I KNEW I BELONGED IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY.  IT WAS REALLY TOUGH ASKING/TELLING MY MOM I WANTED TO ENROLL BUT SHE SUPPORTED ME THROUGH THE WHOLE PROGRAM.  EVERYTHING FROM BEING A MODEL FOR HAIRCUTS AND COLOR, TO MAKING SURE I HAD GAS IN MY CAR TO GET TO SCHOOL AND ALWAYS PACKED ME LUNCH.  I EXCELLED IN THE PROGRAM AND AFTER THE 13-MONTH COURSE, I WASTED NO TIME STARTING MY CAREER AS A HAIRSTYLIST.
